Meininger’s Wine Business International magazine has been shortlisted in the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards, in the category of International Wine Publication of the Year 2011.

The prestigious Louis Roederer awards are given in a range of categories, including International Wine Feature Writer, International Wine Column and International Wine Book of the year and attract entries from the English speaking world’s most renowned wine writers. They are also notable for their Emerging Wine Writer category, which has helped launch the careers of some of the wine world’s brightest talent.
Meininger’s Wine Business International magazine, published by Germany’s Meininger Verlag, was founded in 2006. Christoph Meininger, managing director of Meininger Verlag, realized that the wine trade had very little information about how the global trade functioned, in a time when exporting has become ever more crucial. Although a German publisher, Mr Meininger made the decision to publish in English, to reach the widest possible audience.

The magazine is the only one which is truly global in scope, as it takes an international viewpoint, rather than a local one. It covers both new and emerging markets, with articles written by acknowledged experts who normally live in the regions they’re reporting from. Altogether, the magazine has more than 30 correspondents around the world, tracking developments in markets as diverse as China, Australia, Great Britain and Russia, as well as small markets like Dubai, Bulgaria and Poland

The winners of the Louis Roederer Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on 19th September 2011.
