by Jane Anson in Bordeaux- After four years of drama, confusion and near-farce, a new St Emilion classification will 
come into effect from the 2012 harvest.
The French appellations body, the INAO, has finally approved the new regulations, almost exactly four years since the 2006 classification collapsed into a legal morass.
The classified wines of Saint Emilion are the only ones in the world to submit to a 10-year classification, where chateaux are revised upwards and downwards depending on quality.

by Maggie Rosen – The Crédit Municipal de Paris – the city of Paris’s treasury – is hosting its second annual wine auction, on 16 November, at its offices in the Marais.
Following the successful sale in October 2006 of the Paris Town Hall wine cellar (dubbed ‘Chirac’s cellar’), in conjunction with French auction house SVV Giafferi, the ministry of finance was inspired to start hosting its own annual wine auctions.
