Bei einer zweitägigen Auktion in Hong Kong erzielte das britische Auktionshaus Sotheby´s einen Umsatz von 7,9 Millionen Dollar. Der Erlös lag damit um 28 Prozent über den Schätzpreisen.

Den höchsten Preis erzielte eine 6-Liter-Imperiale des Jahrgang 1982 von Chateau Petrus. Mit 93,000 Dollar wurde ein neuer Weltrekord für eine derartige Grossflasche von Pétrus aufgestellt.

FRANCE/US: Georges Duboeuf predicts strong Beaujolais vintage

Leading Beaujolais wine producer Georges Duboeuf has claimed that 2009 is “one of the best” Beaujolais vintages in the last 50 years. In his most recent harvest report, Duboeuf said the region could not have expected a better yield in terms of quality and polyphenol maturity. The quantity is expected to be close to appellation yields ranging from 43 to 48 hl per hectare.

Lucy Shaw for decanter.com -Selfridges and Decanter launched two weeks of Decanter World Wine Award winners at the shop's Wonder Bar last night.

The renowned department store in London's Oxford Street - the busiest shopping street in Europe - is showing 45 Trophy-winning wines in its Enomatic machines, which are operated by pre-paid cards and allow customers to pour samples of either 25ml or 50ml.

NZ: New Zealand Winegrowers limits harvest to curb surplus

Chris Mercer – New Zealand Winegrowers has for the first time set a limit on the amount of wine grapes to be harvested, as the trade body attempts to prevent oversupply from cheapening the country’s wines on international markets.
