The 2011 harvest is marked by a limited production. Going back through our archives we found that it was the lowest yield since the mythical 1961 vintage (11.8 hL/ha versus 20hL/ha for 2011).

The extra time dedicated to sorting the grapes helped us to preserve the quality of this vintage, allowing us to avoid the consequences of the hazardous weather conditions suffered this year.

by Rebecca Gibb – Hong Kong is no longer a ‘bipolar market’, according to new research by Master of Wine Debra Meiburg.

In a survey of more than 250 local wine businesses for her Guide to the Hong Kong Wine Trade, Meiburg debunks the idea that Hong Kong wine consumers only drink super-premium or very low quality wine with no middle market.

‘Sixty-two percent of all wine business is mid-market – Hong Kong has a really strong, solid core. That’s not what anyone is saying about our market,’ Meiburg told Decanter.com.

SograpeStevens Garnier is one of the UK’s most-established wine merchants. It began in the 1970s and now has a portfolio covering all of the world’s major wine regions.

Sogrape Vinhos, one of its first agencies, is Portugal’s biggest wine company, with a turnover of €185m and 1300ha of vineyards.

DRC, gibt es ein Kürzel in der Welt der GROSSEN WEINE, was mehr fasziniert? Domaine de la Romanée-Conti zählt zu den Weingütern dieser Welt, die einen in ihren Bann ziehen. Ihre wahre Größe zeigen sie aber erst nach langen Jahren der Ruhe und Reife. In Proben zusammen mit anderen jüngeren Spitzenburgundern, fallen sie selten in irgendeiner Art besonders positiv auf. Ein Manko haben die Weine der Domaine de la Romanée-Conti allerdings schon: Weder ist die verfügbare Menge sehr groß, noch bewegen sich die Preise in Regionen, die für Normalsterbliche erreichbar sind. Es wird in jedem Fall ein höchst interessanter Weinabend!
