Sigi Hiss – Eine von vielen hochinteressanten Verkostungen während des österreichischen Weingipfels der ÖWM, war einmal die Sauvignon Blanc & das andere mal die Pinot Noir Verkostung. Wie immer bei der ÖWM war die alles perfekt organisiert.Hier Teil I mit der Sauvignon Blanc Probe. Weingipfel2011_Sauvignon

Sigi Hiss – Französische Weine & Spirituosen haben im 1. Quartal 2011 im Sektor Export deutlich zugelegt. Weine inkl. Schaumwein stiegen um 8,7%. Nummer 1 ist hier Champagner mit 26%.
Spirituosen legten um 10,2% zu.

by David Furer – New York Finger Lakes wine and food pioneer Debra Whiting has died in a car accident.Debra Whiting

The 52-year old chef-proprietor of Red Newt Cellars and Bistro on Seneca Lake, in the wine region in upstate New York, was the passenger in a 1985 Volkswagen when it collided with another car last Thursday night.

Whiting’s husband and business partner Dave, who is also winemaker for their Tierce brand of wines, was driving.
