Jim Budd -The long-running conflict between Chaume and Quarts de Chaume in the Loire's Layon Valley has been resolved.
The regional committee of the INAO has agreed that Quarts de Chaume should become a grand cru, while Chaume will become a premier cru.

Jane Anson in Bordeaux - The new Cru Bourgeois label has been officially ratified by the French agricultural ministry – and the decree signed by prime minister François Fillon. This means that from the 2008 vintage onwards the word Cru Bourgeois will once again appear on wine labels from the Médoc. But this time it is an assurance of quality, rather than an actual classification.

Sigi Hiss – Pignolo ist eine Rebsorte die im Friaul-Julisch-Venetien Gebiet angebaut wird. Meines Wissens nirgends sonst, also das was man autochthon nennt.

Wie habe ich darauf gewartet endlich bei den «Schengenern» dabei zu sein. Das gibt praktisch nur Vorteile. Vor allem muss man bei der Passkontrolle praktisch nie mehr anstehen und auch unterwegs mit dem Auto geht es an den Schweizer Grenzen zügiger voran...
